The genre we chosen for our music video was classic rock. It is influence around popular songs that were produced in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Bands and artists associated with classic rock are the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and of course, Queen. Classic rock was played on many radio stations which very dedicated to playing these artists and some more between the 60s and 80s.
Classic rock music is most popular among those people who were young when this type of music came out.
Typical musical qualities of classic rock music are driving bass lines, solid drum beats, catchy guitar rhythms and solos, and rememberable lyrics. In the song we chose, Another One Bites The Dust, it definitely has most of these qualities. The target audience are of this genre were mainly 30+ year old males whereas new music today is mainly targeted at teenagers.
